Drawers, doors and the last week of a build
Finish items are small, but they are only free before you sign.
In short: Binding drawers, uneven vanity gaps and missing screw caps at a Tallawong handover.
Why bother with drawers
Joinery is installed in the final rush. Adjustments that take minutes before handover become a warranty call-out after it.
What we found
At an April 2026 Tallawong handover, kitchen drawers bound and were hard to close, vanity doors hung with uneven gaps and screws were left without cover caps.
The benchtop join
A benchtop join that is not uniform and in one plane is a defect under the 2017 Tolerances Guide. One was recorded on the same visit.
Damage from moving in
Dents to window frames and damage to a sliding door were also logged. Recording them before handover settles who caused them.
A short list is a good list
When the inside of a house produces only items like these, the structure and envelope are usually in better shape.
